Old comments/forums Notes

This should be files under why wikis won't work for discussions

Chris Notes

this entire concept you are laying out here seems to be that a conversation would take place on a wiki page. that people would, in an orderly fashion, add their input after the previous person. this has never worked in the last 10 years of wikis. its been tried. threads of individual posts by individual authors who can only edit their own posts is standard and with good reason.

wikis are for documenting subjects. eg. wikipedia, software documentation, and for the archiving of interesting posts that happened in normal conversation oriented communications (email, newsgroups, forums)
