Over the last few weeks we have been discussing taking care of ourselves and enlisting a team to reach our goals. But what happens when the goal is not reached, and it’s because you as a leader fell short.
What is the correct response from your staff? What if the failure was due to you being unsupportive or you lacked clear expectations or shifting goals. What if you betrayed a confidence, engaged in negative politics and micro-managed?
Do those you lead really believe they could give you an honest score card without being insubordinate or committing political suicide?
