Princeton Merchants Association organized a panel event to provide local small businesses with an overview of Data Security, including security often overlooked. Below is the presentation from the event outlining Security details to keep in mind for your business.
The panel was interactive and some interesting topics came up during the Q&A. Here are some general recommendations from the panelists:
Outsourcing particular security tasks to specialized companies:
- Financial data encryption
- Password management (online tools such as LastPass were mentioned)
- Physical backup that is replicated in multiple locations
User training in order to recognize and prevent potential attacks
Main take-home messages:
- Data security is complex and multilayered
- It is best left managed by trusted partners and an eye to integration of multiple solutions.
