"Let go and let God" is a phrase heard often in recovery support groups. It's a powerful phrase that reminds us that there is a time to work, and a time to surrender the outcome up to God. As leaders, we work hard and naturally assume responsibility, but it's good to remember that this is only one half of the equation. When will we know when it is time to surrender? Often the signs of a need to surrender are that we are trying to control the results, or other people, and another major sign: that we are ignoring our own feelings. If we take the time to tune in and we notice that we are feeling strained, frustrated, confused, or overwhelmed, these are strong signals that we probably need to surrender.

There is real power in surrender; surrender brings a sense of peace, that who we are is good enough, and that no matter how high our position of authority is on earth, we are only responsible for doing our part. Surrendering brings us back to our inner core, where our authentic selves are, and where the Holy Spirit resides in us.

Easter is a wonderful time of new beginnings, renewal, and the triumph of life over death. Permeating the weeks before Easter has been a certain dark sense of foreboding, but now we can feel relief all around us - in nature and in ourselves.

Join us at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning as we discuss the power of surrender, practical tips we can use to connect with our inner core, and the relief and renewal that this brings.
