Do you start and end your day in a manner that provides the greatest opportunity for success?

Do you intentionally ask for what you want, expect to get what you need, and align your day for God’s intervention, insight, and direction? Many of us, practice some form of daily routine that helps in a few of these areas, yet most have not made it a habit that remains unchanged in times of strife.

In the last couple of messages, we have addressed preparing your business for the high probability that unseen ‘sucker punches’ may come and to prepare your house so that it is pleasing to your customers/employees/God. This message will encourage you to set practices for yourself that afford the greatest opportunity for success.

Two of the greatest ANE tools are the Prayer for Leadership Moments and The Calibration Tool.  Frequently we begin our Tuesday calls with the ANE prayer as a way to pull each of the participants closer together for the call, which I call “Centering.”  I believe this affords the opportunity to reign in those tangent thoughts, distractions, and seemingly urgent demands that prevent us from gaining clarity from our Meaningful Purpose. Use of the prayer throughout the day is very helpful in the office.

The Calibration Tool which we have previously referenced is designed to provide clarity on your investment, engagement, and/or distraction primarily in your professional endeavors. The tool has been used with teams and also for individuals seeking general clarity in their lives; yet fundamentally it is about how you are connected in your work and frankly with God in your everyday living. Use it or lose it.

Kids, Families, Churches, Individuals, Teams, and Organizations benefit from structure.  Consider starting your personal day with a prayer that brings your life into focus (ask for God’s help with that daunting task), establishing a routine that reminds you to insert God into your decisions when you become distracted, request God’s presence in hiring/firing decisions, and finally be mindful of how you end your day. Is your ending appreciative and respectful of the opportunities, or resentful of the “wants” that were not provided when the “needs” where uncomfortable to receive.
