Gitanjali (Song Offerings) is Rabindranath Tagores poetry set to original music by Professor of Music, Dr. John C. Pennington utilizing the American Gamelan which, is a set of tuned metallophones and gongs that is housed at Augustana College. 2013 is the centenary of Tagores receiving the Nobel Prize for Gitanjali. Joining the Augustana Percussion Ensemble will be guest vocal soloist and guitarist Cyprian Consiglio, currently a Camaldolese Monk residing in Big Sur, California.
