Do people really listen to you? And you to them? Just nod if you can hear me.

Actually I'm not talking about superficial nodding. I mean the deep listening that comes when leaders choose to be fully present. They put aside disruptions and their personal needs in favor of seeing the greater good come from conversations. In their communicating they go all in - body, mind, and spirit.

Can you recall situations when you felt bored by people or you felt the need to interrupt? I know I surely can. These are all symptoms of the lack of spiritual connection at work. They happen when we place our own needs first, and choose not to be fully present. We miss the chance to squeeze all the positive juice out of conversations.

This week you will have many conversations with people. Saying that simple phrase to oneself: "Show me the new pathways," is often all it takes to be fully present. And sometimes, when we are lost in the moment by moment busyness, one conversation is all it takes to get us back.
