We can never achieve our full potential as leaders unless we take time to reflect and be at peace, and then connect with colleagues we trust.

Excessive work hours and crammed calendars/diaries are signs of stress. It pushes us to lead from the "I" more than the "We," and gets us to clinging to our outdated ways of doing things. Ask yourself: Do I ever respond to the urgent need to change with: "Not now, too busy, thanks," or, "Good idea, but...," or,  "If we hang in a while longer, it will work out okay, won't it?" Don't these phrases really signal the need to let go and take time to make a change? Or does responding by grinding ahead with more of the same actually work?

At ANE, we see change as an opportunity to fully engage the beliefs that make up our essential core, our spiritual center. Growth starts when we inspire ourselves to let go of the old ways that no longer serve us. So we connect to our spiritual center to find the calm, confident, peace that builds our receptivity. In the powerful stillness at our inner core, we see workplace facts in the light of greater truths. It is here, in this reflective peaceful place, that new ideas emerge. Confident in the outcome, we share our thinking with people we trust, brainstorming the options, clarifying the strategies. Our new pathways are born of confidence not fear, creativity not stagnation, connectivity not isolation, facts not half-truths, workplace joy not misery. Only by finding peace can they ever emerge.

Is this your week to start a change that's been hanging around for some time? Say no to procrastination, and take the time to reflect and connect.

And when you share your experiences at our LinkedIn Group: A New Equilibrium, other ANE leaders will benefit, even while you sleep.
