Advice from an ANE leader named Will in the UK:

"Your 'Yes, Buts' message struck an inspiring chord in me. Not just because I need to follow Terry's advice about avoiding thinking that way, but also because in some businesses, saying 'Yes, But' and 'No' to anyone's ideas can be the cultural norm.

I use a technique that I would like to share with ANE members. Change the But to an And. Hard, eh? If you do that, you are forced to rephrase the negative thoughts into some form of positive helpful expression. The result is more motivating and inspirational and enables your leadership to work.

Compare these two:

"Yes, we need to grow our market share, but we don't have any money to invest."
"Yes, we need to grow market share, and we will start by figuring out how to finance it."

It's simple really. The 'Yes, But' closes off spiritual pathways. The 'Yes, And' inspires positive forward motion toward real success.

Regards to all,
Will"
